Dr. Lester and the OCPC are participants in the Chile California Conservation Exchange — an effort to share knowledge and experience about coastal conservation across hemispheres and geographies with amazing similarities and striking differences. The Exchange is bringing together coastal conservationists, government officials, managers and NGOs to push coastal conservation lessons and new management regimes forward in both countries.
Dr. Lester has participated in several seminars in Santiago, Chile, speaking about the lessons we have learned in California about coastal management, and what types of issues to implement strong, integrated coastal management in Chile. Below are links to a recent keynote address by Dr. Lester for an international seminar titled "Towards a New Coastal Governance in Chile"; and a brochure summarizing California coastal management lessons for consideration by practitioners in Chile.
Keynote Address begins at 29:30.
